Tully Clifford has been fusing glass for over 5 years.  He uses simple and complex techniques to create products that are whimsical, artistic, useful and interesting.  Tully uses a variety of materials and forms to shape the glass to its final shape.  Tully has produced pieces that are now in collections in New Zealand, Canada, Scotland, the United States and elsewhere.
Tully creates Plates, Bowls and Platters in a variety of sizes and shapes.  On the artistic side, Tully creates many pieces designed to reflecr, transmit, and refract light.  The results are unique and visually pleasing.  He continues to experiment with different techniques for creating unique fused glass pieces.  Recently he has been working to combine lampworked pieces (created using a torch) and kiln-formed pieces.

Fused Glass is a term used to describe glass that has been fired (heat processed) in a kiln at temperatures ranging from 1150F to1700F.  There are three main distinctions for temperature application and the resulting effect on the glass.  Firing in the lower range of these temperatures 1100F to 1250F is called slumping.  Slumping is used to shape a finished glass piece into or over a mold to obtain a specific shape.  Firing in the middle range of these temperatures 1280F to 1350F is considered tack fusing.  Tack fused glass is fused together yet individual glass pieces are still distinct.  Firing the glass at the higher spectrum of this range 1350F to 1700F is a full fuse.  A full fuse is glass that has melted completely together with nicely rounded edges.  Al of these techniques cann be applied to one glass work in separate firings to add depth, relief, contrast and shape.
